Interactive CV

Interactive CV

This interactive and dynamic interface showcases my Curriculum Vitae and utilizes the D3 JavaScript library of tools along with a JSON file with the data.  The graphic representation is a reflection of the tree format with the Reingold-Tilford algorithm, which depicts layered nodes referenced from the origin.  Select the solid nodes to expand the layered nodes within as new branches with even further branches.  Selecting the branched nodes retracts them back.

Time Management Dashboard

Time Management Dashboard

Time management and documentation are critical elements in managing and fulfilling my work duties, but in them also resides enriched data to monitor my progress and evolution. The charts in the following dashboard were developed using the D3 JavaScript library that connects a dynamic CSV file linked from my daily tasks database to a CSS-generated SVG.  As a result, this is a live dashboard that is updated dynamically from database to server and ultimately through the data visualizations.  Scroll through the dashboard to the see just the first instances of D3-generated charts that I have developed.  Then check out the

AR Dev with Vuforia & Unity

AR Dev with Vuforia & Unity

Vuforia has proven to be a very powerful tool for developing augmented reality interaction with Unity and mobile apps. My tests of Vuforia with Unity have been really successful and the workflow is really streamlined. After identifying a model and a tracker, the Vuforia package from its developer portal provides the link to the developer account where the tracker is stored. Once the build to an app is complete and deployed to the mobile device, the app loads the model saved within the app and displays it upon recognition of the tracker with the mobile device’s camera. The tests that

Unity Cloud Build

Unity Cloud Build

If you’re using Unity, definitely check out its Unity Cloud Build service. I was testing it out to build an AR model and it seems to streamline a lot of the workflow, especially the iOS build part. There was a bit of a setup to link Unity with a git repository and then to the Cloud Build service, but once the iOS app developer info was input, it built the app ready to drag & drop to the mobile device. There’s also the option to build to all of the other platforms; not just iOS. What really caught my attention

Affinity Photo & Designer

Affinity Photo & Designer

Affinity Photo & Designer have emerged to become competitors to the long-time reigning Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator. When it was first suggested that I try it out, my thought was that there’s no way these could be comparable to Photoshop and Illustrator, tools that are priced significantly higher. I’ve used Photoshop and Illustrator ever since high school for editing and development of graphics; I even taught them at Tulane University as part of the Media Arts program, so they have been my premier tools for photo and vector graphics. But I had to see what the hype about Affinity was

Speckle XYZ

Speckle XYZ

The Speckle Uploader in Grasshopper appears to be really straightforward. It’s a single component that inputs a brep or mesh and outputs a weblink after double-clicking the Speckle Uploader component. The following is one of my preliminary tests that shows the use of Speckle as a simple way of showcasing a Rhino WIP model in an online viewer: Link http://speckle.xyz/view/41-afhqZz I haven’t tried Speckle Streams yet, but found this interesting video of it being used to work collaboratively in Rhino & GH: Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKd0t1SehFc
